I know that David was super-smart and very wise, but goodness I feel it's his dry wit that the world is a sadder place without. His account at Jenny Isaac's wedding of her, as a small child in the care of the two dads, throwing up in the open handbag of someone standing at a pub bar - and the dads then just discreetly ushering all the kids away into a back room - was a wedding speech never bettered.
